Child Fares

Children 12 years and under, who share a room with an adult travel at 50% of the adult rate. Children may not be carried in our vehicles as lap passengers and must be carried in an appropriate child restraint which we will be happy to provide on request.

Refund Policy

Payment to be made in full at time of confirmation of booking.

Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to departure are not refundable.

Cancellations made up to 48 hours before departure but less than 7 days prior to departure are %50 refundable.

Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to departure but less than 14 days prior to departure are %75 refundable.

Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to departure are %90 refundable.

Due to exchange rate fluctuations, at times there may be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially paid. Kiwitrek Ltd does not accept any liability for these variances or any subsequent credit card/bank charges relating to the transfer to customer’s accounts.

No refunds will be made once travel has commenced nor will any refund be available in respect of any tours, accommodation, hires, services or activities paid for but not utilized.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in your tour cost. It is strongly recommended that insurance be taken out to protect you against cancellation charges, loss or damage of personal effects, ill health and medical expenses and any other unforeseen insurable events. While all care is taken Kiwitrek Ltd does not accept any liability for any loss or damage to luggage.

Privacy Policy

We value your privacy and take all practical steps to ensure that your information remains confidential. The statement below is a summary of the policies employed by Kiwitrek Ltd:

Kiwitrek Ltd does not collect private or personal information from this web site, except where you willingly provide it. If you contact Kiwitrek Ltd we may keep a record of that correspondence.

Any information supplied to us will be used solely for the purpose of providing our products or services. We will not sell, rent or otherwise make available to any third-party any of your personal information save as required to do so by New Zealand law or by the order any regulatory body.

You may edit any personal information that Kiwitrek Ltd holds on you by contacting us via phone or e-mail. Your information can be updated, corrected or deleted at your request at any time.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure unless it is through a Secure Credit Card System. Accordingly, you should never send us your credit card details via email. Bookings over the phone with your Visa/Mastercard will be accepted. While we strive to protect your personal information, Kiwitrek Ltd cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us via email. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.

All Credit Card transactions are processed directly through a Secure Credit Card System which uses 128-bit encryption technology.

Optional Activities

Kiwitrek Ltd offers a variety of optional activities as part of our tours. These activities are provided by a third party and involves an element of risk. While Kiwitrek Ltd takes care to ensure the activities offered are from accredited operators we do not accept any liability for any acts or omissions of such operators or their subcontractors for any failure to provide services, adhere to their own schedules, or honour their contracts.

Changes to Itinerary

A minimum number of bookings are required in order for a tour to be financially viable. In the event that adequate numbers cannot be achieved, it may be necessary to cancel a scheduled departure and to offer the nearest possible alternative date (or a full refund of monies paid). Kiwitrek Ltd reserves the right to make changes to itineraries or cancel any trip, including a guaranteed trip, at any time prior to departure. It is imperative that you download the most up to date information from our website just prior to your trip departing.


Kiwitrek Ltd is not in any way liable for any loss or damage from alterations, delays, or changes arising from unusual or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, such as, but not limited to, threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist act, industrial dispute, natural or man-made disaster, fire, adverse weather, technical problems with transport, traffic congestion or road closures. Compensation will not be payable if we need to cancel or amend tour arrangements due to any of the aforementioned circumstances.

Kiwitrek Ltd will not be held responsible for any property loss or damage, or from any damage resulting in personal injury or death which may arise whilst on tour or when utilising any other service provided by Kiwitrek Ltd or its agents.

Customer Feedback

If a problem occurs during your tour, then it is in your own best interests to advise your Tour Manager immediately so that steps can be taken to resolve the matter there and then. If you remain dissatisfied, any complaint must be made in writing to us within 30 days.
